Growing older more beautiful thanks to fillers in Q&A
Every face ages, especially after age 25. So does that mean you can only suffer this natural aging idly? Not at all! With fillers you can reverse the aging process and rejuvenate your face. And that without surgery.
Is filler treatment painful?
This depends on the area in your face: around the mouth is slightly more painful than at the level of the cheekbones. Every filler contains an analgesic, which makes the pain bearable. If necessary, we additionally soothe the pain during injection with an anesthetic ointment.
How many treatments are needed?
Sometimes one, sometimes several. For example, do you want to increase the volume of your lips? Then one filler treatment will often suffice. However, do you want to have your entire face treated? Then we’ll see in how many treatments we can achieve the result.
How long do fillers have an effect?
A filler treatment lasts between 9 months and 18 months. In areas that move a lot, such as the mouth, the effect is shortest; at the level of the cheekbones, the effect of the fillers is longest.
Will it be noticeable that I have had filler treatment?
No, at least not if the treatment is done the right way. Because we use the right fillers in the right amounts and in the right places, at least you won’t look unnatural. In fact, we do not create new volume, but restore volume that has disappeared over the years.
What happens after the fillers wear off? Will my face sag then?
No, on the contrary. Your face returns to its original situation little by little. Fillers also do not have a negative impact on that original situation. So the effect of a filler treatment cannot be compared to a balloon that you first inflate and then release the air from.
Will I look much older after I stop using fillers?
It is certainly not the case that filler treatment speeds up the aging process. On the contrary, fillers just rejuvenate your face. The hyaluronic acid from the fillers stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which improves the quality of your skin. You retain that “edge” after the end of the filler treatment.
I am not satisfied with the result, now what?
Everything starts with a good preparation. Therefore, before treatment we will always listen carefully and then give you the most realistic picture of the final result. Are you really not satisfied? Then we can “dissolve” the filler again. At the place where we injected the filler, we then inject a protein in high concentration that can break down the hyaluronic acid of the filler again. 24 hours after this “recovery operation,” the filler is largely dissolved, and after any second protein treatment, the effect is completely nullified.
Do fillers still make sense after menopause?
Sure! After menopause, you produce less collagen and elastin, causing your skin to sag. Hyaluronic acid fillers just stimulate the production of that collagen and are much more suitable from a certain age than so-called collagen stimulators. After menopause, it is much more difficult to produce extra collagen, so collagen stimulators are no longer sufficient. Fillers are then a more than adequate alternative.
Do fillers cause bruising on my face?
Some are already more sensitive to this than others. Usually the bruises resulting from filler treatment are not too bad and you can easily hide them. And after a while, they disappear on their own.
Should I always have both lips treated?
You can, but you don’t have to. If you choose fillers for both your lower and upper lips, it does result in a nicer relationship between the two lips.
