Breasts come in all sizes and shapes. And so do breast implants. Which implant is best for you is determined on the one hand by your personal wishes and on the other by the anatomy of your body.

Types of breast implants

We distinguish between different breast implants or breast prostheses based on three factors: the shell, the filling and the shape.
For example, the silicone shell may be smooth, or it may have a fine texture or a rough surface. The filling consists of cohesive silicone gel or physiological saline (salt water).
The shape of breast implants is either round or drop-shaped (anatomical). The first type provides more volume at the top of your breast. In turn, droplet-shaped implants provide more volume mainly at the bottom.

Which breast implant to choose?

This is partly personal, but also always depends on the initial situation. For the latter, we look at the shape of your breasts, among other things, but also at the quality of the skin and your own tissue. Therefore, the volume, filling and cohesiveness of your implant must always fit your personal anatomy. The chosen shape – round or drop – in turn plays into what you expect your breast to look like after the insertion of the prosthesis.

To get a better idea of what you look like, at Duinbergen Clinic we always make a 3D reconstruction of your breasts, after which we can show what effect different prostheses have on your body. You can then perfectly see and decide what you like.

At Duinbergen Clinic we explain in detail the differences between breast implants. So you can make an informed choice.
