Skin protection: also for hands, neck and décolleté
The treatment of skin aging is primarily associated with the face. Other areas such as the hands, neck area and cleavage receive much less attention. However, these areas are also susceptible to the aging process and must therefore be well protected.
Not only does the face age…
Very often we situate skin aging in the face. We find it logical that we need to protect our face. We find it normal that in time peelings, laser treatments, injectables or surgical procedures are frequently used to make the face look fresh and taut again.
The same care should actually go to the hands, neck and décolleté. Without proper protection, the skin will age in these areas as well. A number of factors only accelerate this process: winter cold, UV radiation, hot water and/or soap and the use of paint or chemicals.
Avoid Contrast
If we give the décolletage, hands and neck less attention than the face, there is a chance that there will be a contrast. The skin on the face then looks better than that in the “forgotten zones. On the hands, neck or décolleté, for example, the skin is then saggier or thinner. Often we also see pronounced UV damage, such as rosacea or pigmentation.
- Always start with a skin analysis. When you know what skin type you have and what skin problems you have, you can treat those as well.
- Give your cleavage, neck and hands the same care and attention as your face. A cream with antioxidants is generally considered a good skin care product.
- Protect yourself from the sun. Sunscreen on your face is a must, but rub on your hands, neck and décolleté as well.
- You can also use your exfoliant or vitamin A cream on your hands, neck and décolleté.
Skin treatments for neck, hands and cleavage
Depending on the degree of skin aging, different treatments are available for the hands, neck and décolleté:
- Peelings: by removing dead cells, your skin regains a healthier, fresher, even glow. Ideal for incipient skin aging.
- PRP, Dermapen, DF device: injections with platelet-rich plasma, microneedling with the Dermapen and the use of a DF device are three effective treatments to rejuvenate the skin.
- Light treatment: for smoother skin for redness, rosacea or pigmentation.
- Profhilo treatment: by injecting hyaluronic acid, the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated. Thus, the skin regains its freshness and firmness naturally.
- Radiofrequency radiation or ultrasound: stimulates the production of collagen in the deeper skin layers, including in the neck area.
