To facelift or not to facelift
The ravages of time can be unforgiving to our face. As our skin’s elasticity and subcutaneous volume decrease, our skin sags further and further down and wrinkles take over. A facelift will tighten your face again, but of course you want this procedure to have the most natural end result possible….
Natural intervention against nature
Even as more and more years tick away on our counters, we want to keep looking our best. This is a phenomenon of all times, but since the rise of social media, we have begun to place even more importance on our appearance. Rather than letting the skin of our face sag further and lose subcutaneous volume that makes our face look drawn and more tired, we are only too happy to go against nature. A facelift is then an appropriate procedure, provided there is little or no noticeable effect afterwards.
Backwards, upwards and deeper
Facelift techniques have greatly improved in recent years. Where the skin used to be pulled backwards, today we do it backwards and upwards. This tightening of the upper skin layer only has a temporary effect. For a permanent result we go one layer deeper and simultaneously elevator the skin and the underlying solid layer. This so-called “en-bloc facelift” also ensures a smaller wound area and consequently less swelling and less bruising. Often you can go out after just one week, without anyone noticing the operation. Just as you had in mind when deciding to have a facelift performed.
The earlier, the better
Today, the results of your facelift last for ten to fifteen years. However, the older you are, the more difficult it becomes to correct the impact of the years. So waiting too long is not the best idea. Moreover, a facelift not only has a positive effect on how you look on the outside. You also simply feel better on the inside. And that, in turn, radiates outward. Double win, in other words.
