Have you recently lost a lot of weight, causing excess skin on your legs? Aging can also cause the skin on the inside and outside of the legs to sag. Sagging skin can cause your figure to lose its contours and makes walking more difficult. In this case, the upper legs rub against each other, which can be very annoying. A thigh elevator, also known as a thigh elevator or thigh correction, can help. With this method, the thighs are corrected because the skin of the upper legs is lifted and the subcutaneous fatty tissue is removed. Thigh lift techniques
A thigh elevator can be performed in several ways. First, it is determined which part of the thigh needs to be lifted and based on that, the appropriate technique is applied. A thigh elevator can be performed to elevator the following parts of the thigh:
- Inside and front. This involves making an incision in the groin that allows only a small correction. The advantage is that the small scar falls into the groin.
- Round the thigh. An incision is made on the inside of the thigh. The excess skin is removed. Any excess fat can be suctioned out using liposuction.
- Full elevator of the upper legs. A combination of the above techniques. This improves the contour of the entire thigh. An incision is made both in the groin and on the inner thigh. Again, excess fat is suctioned out.
The intervention
A thigh elevator is a relatively major procedure that takes about 2 hours, under full anesthesia of course. A combination with liposuction may take longer. First, the plastic surgeon marks on your leg exactly how much skin needs to be removed. After administering anesthesia, the skin is cut away from the underlying layers of fat and muscle and removed. Fat is sucked out in the meantime. Finally, the wound is neatly sutured to ensure that scars are seen as little as possible. After a few hours you can sometimes go home, although people often stay overnight in the hospital. You decide for yourself.
The result after a thigh elevator
After the procedure, your legs will be swollen, turn blue and feel sore. The body needs time to recover. The more invasive the surgery, the longer recovery will take. The sensitivity will disappear after a few weeks, and the bruising and swelling will also gradually go away. To counteract the swelling, you will wear compression stockings for the first 3-6 weeks. After a week you can carefully resume your daily activities. To give your body a chance to recover, we recommend that you do not return to heavy activities until after 6 weeks. The result of the procedure is visible after a few months: tighter thighs. This result will last for a long time, provided you maintain a healthy and stable weight.
Scars
During surgery, the incisions are sutured as best as possible to avoid noticeable scars. After surgery, scars may become redder and remain sensitive for some time. Do not worry, this is normal. With proper aftercare, you increase your chances of beautiful healing. By using scar cream, over time the scars will fade and become more similar in color to your skin. This will make them less noticeable.
