What is intimate surgery?
Genital or intimate surgery in women includes treatments that improve the appearance and comfort of the external genital organs.
The purpose is not just aesthetic - many women also experience physical discomfort, such as friction, irritation or discomfort during sports, cycling or sexual activity.
The most commonly performed treatments are labia correction (labiaplasty) and lipofilling of the labia. Both procedures can be performed separately or combined, depending on your anatomy and wishes.
When to choose intimate correction?

Pubic lip correction (Labiaplasty)
In a labia correction, excess skin on the inner labia is removed or refined so that it is in proportion to the outer labia.
The surgeon works with fine sutures and follows the natural contour, so the result looks natural and scars are barely visible.
- Anesthesia: local anesthesia or light sedation
- Duration: ± 45-60 minutes
- Recovery: some days of mild swelling and tenderness; work and daily activities usually resume after 3-5 days
Lipofilling of the labia
Lipofilling uses fat from your own body (e.g., abdomen or thighs) to restore volume and firmness to the outer labia.
This treatment is ideal for volume loss after aging or weight loss, or after childbirth.
- Anesthesia: local anesthesia with light sedation
- Duration: ± 60-90 minutes
- Recovery: mild swelling or tenderness for several days; result visible after 2-3 weeks, permanent after several months
Lipofilling can also be combined with a labia correction to restore both contour and volume.
Results and recovery
After both procedures, it is important to keep the area clean and dry, and avoid friction or pressure (cycling, sports, sexual activity) for 3-4 weeks.
Most women experience little pain and see a clear aesthetic and functional difference within a few weeks.
