Most people like to look good! We prefer not to have wrinkles on our face. There are several causes that can be improved with wrinkle treatment.
Some wrinkles are caused by excessive exertion of certain facial muscles. This can result in a striking facial expression such as surprise or anger. Over time, the wrinkles remain visible: even when you are not smiling or frowning. It is the result of the skin's natural aging process. These types of movement and frown lines (like crow's feet) can be successfully treated. We use an injection of a substance that relaxes the muscles for this purpose.
By selectively relaxing overactive muscles, the skin becomes smoother and the face takes on a rested, fresher appearance.

This is how we will treat your wrinkles
Using a micro needle, we inject a very small amount of the product into a predetermined area of the facial muscle. The muscle relaxant causes the muscles to relax and reduce the muscle movement that causes motion wrinkles. As a result, you immediately look younger and have a more relaxed appearance. It is still possible to move your face in a normal way afterwards.
Which wrinkles qualify?
All wrinkles caused by overactive muscles:
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Horizontal forehead wrinkles
- Crow's feet around the eyes
- Bunny lines
- Gummy smile
- Dimples in the chin
- Marionette lines
- The neck muscle
- Excessive muscle tension in the jaw or chin (e.g., teeth grinding)
Effect of muscle relaxing wrinkle treatment
Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the stimulus transmission from nerve fibers to muscle fibers, causing the muscle to contract less forcefully. This gives the skin above it a chance to relax and smooth out.
The effect usually occurs within 3 to 7 days and lasts an average of 3 to 4 months, depending on the area treated and your individual muscle activity.
In the longer term, the effect of wrinkle treatment will increase. This is due to the fact that you learn certain automatisms and because the volume of muscle fibers decreases. You will experience little discomfort with a wrinkle treatment, provided that the indication is correctly made and the treatment is performed by a competent person with anatomical knowledge and knowledge of wrinkle treatments. Some mild redness may sometimes occur, but you can resume your activities as usual immediately after treatment. Visible results occur about a week after the injection.
Application for excessive perspiration
The technique used in muscle relaxing wrinkle treatment can also be applied to people who suffer from excessive perspiration. Muscle relaxant injections are applied to the areas where sweat glands are located. Sweat glands are controlled in the same way as facial muscles. Those spots are selectively treated with small injections of micro-needles. The treatment is effective for about four to nine months. Unfortunately, it is not a permanent solution for everyone: so you will probably need a repeat treatment when it has worn off....
Muscle relaxants versus fillers
Do not confuse wrinkle treatment with muscle relaxants with fillers. This is because hyaluronic acid fillers are used to add volume, while muscle relaxants relax the muscles that cause wrinkles.
Results and aftercare
The result is a naturally relaxed look, without your facial expression disappearing. The first results of the treatment are seen within a week and the maximum effect can be seen 5-6 weeks after injection. The treatment is usually effective up to 4 months after injection, but after repeated treatments it may be longer.
Every treatment has risks. With botulinum toxin type A treatments, the following side effects have been described: headache, numbness, drooping eyelid, nausea, drooping eyebrows, red skin, tense skin, localized muscle weakness, facial pain, swelling at the injection site, bruising, pain and/or hematoma (hematoma) and/or irritation at the injection site. Side effects usually occur within the first few days after injection.
To prevent side effects, it is recommended
- Do not rub or massage the injected areas for 24 hours after treatment
- Gently cleanse the face the evening after treatment, without rubbing
- No makeup to be used before, during and after treatment
- Avoid excessive bending, strenuous physical activity on the day of treatment
Report it to your doctor immediately if any of the following signs or symptoms occur:
- Allergic reactions (swelling of the face, throat or airways)
- Feeling weak or feeling of fainting
- Hives
- Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath and/or wheezing
- Difficulty swallowing
- Difficulty talking
