Facelift - Restore your youthful profile
A facelift is the most complete surgical approach to correct sagging skin and deep facial wrinkles. The plastic surgeon removes excess skin, firms up the underlying connective tissues and muscles, and puts back the skin smooth and tight. We often combine this with lipofilling to restore lost volume. The result is a rejuvenated facial appearance that looks natural. Facelift? What facelift?
"Facelift" is a fairly general term meaning an enhancement of the face with surgery. In reality, a facelift consists of a whole number of building blocks that a plastic surgeon can choose from to get the result you want and that suits you.
Below we list some parts of the face that can be lifted: forehead, brow, face, midface and neck. To these can then be added the different types of eyelid surgery, volume restoration with own fat. Skin improvement with various techniques should also not be forgotten and new techniques such as the hemostatic net.
As you already understand, it is usually not a minor procedure that often takes several hours. That is why it is usually done at AZ Zeno Hospital under general anesthesia. Usually you will also stay overnight.

Forehead elevator
Due to age and the normal skin aging process, you may experience sagging of the upper eyelid skin, eyebrows and forehead skin. The result: a facial expression that makes you look tired, old or even angry. A forehead elevator will ensure that you no longer suffer from gaze field restriction and a tired facial expression. Keep in mind that the forehead skin is smoother and tighter after a forehead elevator, but wrinkles will not disappear completely. We often perform a forehead elevator in conjunction with other surgical procedures, such as a facelift or neck elevator.
Eyebrow elevator and GBL
An eyebrow can be lifted in several ways. With wires, by removing a piece of skin directly above the eyebrow or skin in the hairline or between the hairs. There are also endoscopic techniques with keyhole surgery, In a Gliding Browlift (GBL), the skin is lifted with a limited number of incisions so that one recovers quickly. The forehead skin is fixed with a hemostatic net that is removed after 2-3 days. A GBL can also be done as an isolated procedure under local anesthesia.

Midfacelift or CML elevator
Another variant facelift is the midfacelift or CML elevator. This involves lifting only the middle part of your face. Through an incision in the lower eyelid, the cheeks are brought back up, correcting the bulge under the eyes. At the same time, we improve the nasolabial fold and any drooping cheeks by returning volume to its original location.
Facelift, MACS elevator, deep plane facelift
These are various techniques that move the skin of the cheeks backward and upward to return the sagging skin to its original position. The goal is to make the nasolabial fold less deep and restore the jawline. It is up to the surgeon to determine which technique is most appropriate for you.
There is no "mini-lift," each facelift is customized to the patient's needs where we may or may not be more aggressive. Many people want a natural result that is not too exaggerated. This is perfectly possible.
Neck elevator
The neck, too, is often visible as the years progress. First the skin sags a bit and then wrinkles and folds appear. If the skin becomes very saggy, a neck elevator may offer a solution. With a neck elevator, excess skin is removed so that the neck regains its beautiful contours. This can be done from under the chin, behind the ear or both. The platysma (a flat neck muscle) often needs to be worked so that it is less visible. There are various techniques for this. Even part of the salivary gland can be removed.Usually a neck elevator is performed in conjunction with a facelift.
Recovery and aftercare
After the procedure, there is always swelling and blue discoloration, which disappears within a few weeks. To promote healing, we recommend LPG lymphatic drainage. This is also included in the price. We see you regularly in the beginning, so that you feel better and the recovery progresses late we put more time in between. The final result is visible after several months and usually lasts for many years.
